Andu works as a scientific researcher at the Danube Delta Research Institute in Tulcea and he knows the Delta and the Black Sea shore like the back of his hand. The passion for birds and wildlife in general led him to explore the entire region of Dobrogea, the Romanian side of the Danube Valley and the southern part of the Carpathians. With an encyclopedic knowledge of the country’s birds & culture, good humor and easy going style he ensures a great time in the field for all.
Andy has excellent skills and experience in birding & wildlife production, being one the first employees of the BirdGuides Ltd (the UK's leading developer of natural history software), where he worked for 17 years. Tour manager of GoneBirding and cofounder & member of SK58 Birders Club, both based in Sheffield, Andy has invaluable knowledge of the birdlife, good sense of humor and great enthusiasm in the field. His long term project is to build up a comprehensive film archive of UK & European birds.
From the seashore to the high mountain top, Ben has superb knowledge of the Romania's spectacular butterflies, landscape and wildlife. He has been keen on butterflies for most of his life and is our friendly and outgoing English butterfly specialist, who designed and leads the Butterflies, birds & local culture Tour. In UK Ben works for the Wildlife Trusts and also runs a successful shop in Sheffield.
Laur is a young university graduate biologist. He has a vast experience of the Danube Delta and Dobrogea, experience he gained in time as a volunteer in the most important environmental NGOs in the region. With a very good command of English, field experience and enthusiasm he is a great companion to any of our tours.
