January - Wintertime on the Black Sea shore

February - Dalmatian Pelican (Pelecanus crispus)

Dalmatian Pelicans arrive to their colonies in their most beautiful breeding plumage. It's the beginning of Red-breasted Geese migration to the Siberian breeding sites. Join our Red-Breasted Geese & Raptors Tour or Red-Breasted Geese Weekend to see their exciting "courtship display".

March

March - White Stork (Ciconia ciconia)

It's the start of the spring migration. The best time to see thousands of White Storks coming from the South.

April

April - White Pelicans (Pelecanus onocrotalus)

May

May - European Brown Bear (Ursus arctos) in the Carpathians - Bucegi Mts.

Still good migration; plenty of Eastern specialties. Bird species are in their most striking breeding plumage – excellent sights for birdwatching and photographing. In the Carpathians, all summer visitors are arriving. Brown Bears frenetically search for food. It's the best time to join any of our seasonal tours in the Danube Delta, Carpathians and Dobrogea.

June

June - Lady Orchid (Orchis purpurea)

It's warm & nice, the snow is melting in the high alpine areas. All sites are teaming with birds, adults feeding their young. It's the orchids' season. Alpine roses are in flower in the highlands. June-July are the best months to explore the Carpathians. It's the best time to join any of our seasonal tours in the Danube Delta, Carpathians and Dobrogea.

July

July - Black-crowned Night Heron (Nycticorax nycticorax)

In the delta, Dobrogea and Carpathians all breeding bird species are present & abundant. Most of the juveniles already fledged and for many species the parents still feed their young. First wave of migration for waders, Black Storks and terns. It's the best time to join any of our seasonal tours in the Danube Delta, Carpathians and Dobrogea.

August

August - Fagaras Mountains

It's the start of the fall migration. One of the best time to see huge flocks of pelicans in the delta and the lagoon area. Dobrogea abounds with birds, including plenty of rarities. In the second half of August the first flocks of Broad-billed Sandpiper appear. It's the best period for bird migration in the Carpathians. It's the best time to join any of our seasonal tours in the Danube Delta, Carpathians and Dobrogea.

September

September - Collared Pratincole (Glareola pratincola)

It's full migration time. The best month to watch the movement of raptors and storks. Come on our Danube Delta & Dobrogea Tour to enjoy the major flyaway along the Black Sea Coast & Danube Valley.

October

October - Osprey (Pandion haliaetus)

The fall migration is still strong and northern arrivals gain territory. North-eastern rarities are expected. Join our October Birds Tour to enjoy the last part of the fall migration.

November

November - Dobrogea - White fronts with 2 Red-brested Geese

It's the end of the fall migration and the beginning of winter season. Red-breasted Geese take hold of their roosting sites. December

December - White-tailed Eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla)

The sheer quantity of waterbirds in the delta and the lagoons is a sight which can't be missed.
